Applying the VIL350X High-Powered Villuminator™ Module for Illumination and Projection

The VIL350X high-powered Villuminator module provides a white output beam of diameter 35 mm containing up to 6 Watts of optical flux and top hat uniformity at working distance of 23 mm from the front of the module. To illuminate planes of various sizes, auxiliary projection optics may be employed to reduce or expand the output beam. We describe how this may be performed for illumination and projection applications.

Characterization of Irradiance in Light Microscopes that use the Villuminator™ Module

 The reproducibility of image data in light microscopy is of significant importance in scientific experiments. To address the need for quality assessment of the reproducibility of such data, a passionate group of scientists and engineers got together in April 2020 to form QUAREP-LiMi, which has become recognized worldwide for achievements in developing a variety of protocols for measurements in light microscopy. V-BMB is proud to contribute towards QUAREP-LiMi's endeavor! On April 3rd, 2024, V-BMB optical consultant Ronian Siew was invited to present on techniques utilized at the V-BMB optical lab for performing irradiance and uniformity measurements in microscope systems that use V-BMB's innovative Villuminator™ illumination modules.
